WILL WE EVER SAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rhdeb1FNCBQ

The video to this link illustrates a bodily practice that almost every women has done, is doing, is thinking about doing and will most likely do in the future.

Taking some form of weight reduction aid is something that we women, and now men, have resorted to as an easy way out to attaining the 'ideal body' that we so dearly desire. And it is those commercials like these that make those weight loss tablets 'irresistible'. I mean they promise everything we could ever want! Being happy, being able to actively enjoy the time we have with friends and family, having the men in our lives appreciate us more, being able to wear want we want and look good in it..and so on. Who would not want that! Dieting for women has, in my opinion, become an issue of doing it for other people rather than ourselves. Women are basically tender, soft, warm hearted individuals whose main characteristic is being nurturing, puting others needs before themselves. Both our intelligent and docile bodies are embodied in this art of being nurturing so much so that women themselves are often unable to tell the difference between them doing anything for themselves or for someone else. There are a lot of similar punch phrases in this video which continue to reel us into using these tablets, these inc...
-All other ways of weight loss ways are wrong
-Promises better, more visible results
-results you can feel
-Lose weight naturally
-Lose all the extra weight faster than before.
Is it just me or is this all just a whole lot of  nonsense, that appeals to me of course because of my gender, but nonsense none the less. This dieting practice has become a culture in which women are the prime subjects and always fall prey to its jaws. it all boils down to the idea of women always feeling like their being looked at and so feel like their being watched and have to please their observers, the men.

  1. As a woman with many female friends, I have discussed with them about who we really try to impress when we dress up and go out. Is it the men? Sometimes. But more so, we concluded that we dress nice for women, because women are usually the ones who pay closer attention to wardrobe and image. Of course we want to look attractive for men, but for women to feel good about themselves, they often compare the way they look to other women, which is why we dress nice (to feel superior.)

Also, in regards to dieting. There are so many ridiculous claims being made to try and get people to try new diets, like "lose 7 pounds in a week." Truthfully, it's only possible for the body to lose at most 2 pounds of fat a week in a HEALTHY manner. As a society, we need to learn not to fall for false advertising and realize it's not realistic.
