1 person dies and 100 million cry, 1 million dies and no one cries.
Steve Jobs is an icon, and developed things that helped more than 100 Million people. It's sad to see people go, especially those who do such great things. It's all about context. I don't think anyone cried when Osama Bin Laden was killed. Context.
