Vampire Epdidemic

KEYWORDS: Media Influence, Obsession, Hype, Censorship
These articles consist of bizarre stories of victims being attacked by people who claim to be vampires. Two of the three were only assaults where the victims were bit or scractched but one was a gruesome murder.
The main question in these articles is how much influence does the media have on the people now. With all these novels, movies, and tv series involving vampires like the Twilight saga, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries, there has been a new hype around this new culture. According to these articles though it seems to be a negative hype regarding people's safety and mental health as some believe themselves to be the "bloodsuckers".
Vampires I thought was a harmless fantasy primarily for entertainment. Nothing that I think people would take to an obsessive level, but now it seems that the media is so attached and influential in our lives today that there's no way to escape it. Mobile tv on our phones, on game consoles, computers, everywhere. When does it get to the point of suffocation? Are parents going to have to strictly control and observe what kids are watching and being exposed to? Or is censorship going to have to be tightened and strengthened in America?
I leave the questions up to you and hope this stirred some interesting thoughts.
