Values

Alright, so I came across these pictures as well as a few others and decided to "read" these two. Right away the first thing that popped into my head when I saw these was that the material things are so dearly important to us -the subjects-in this world. This is our culture. Money means everything and the more expensive material things you own, the more money you are portrayed to have, which means the more "classy" you are. Many people are so focused on how they are being judged and what people think of them that they will do whatever they can to spend money that they do (or don't have) on things that make them look important. People spend their money on meaningless things that will only "benefit" them for a little while until they have to go get the next most extravagent thing. When people are out wasting their money on over the top cars, purses, shoes, electronics, ect. (these are some signs that make up this materialistic culture) there are people suffering because they didn't have enough money to buy food for their families. There are people in this world who live in such poverty stricken areas that they can't afford to get water or the things that humans need to survive. Families are struggling to keep their children and loved ones alive while people in the U.S. and other countries are off buying things that make them more acceptable to others. People in this world need to reprioritize their values and the objects that they think so highly of, because there are far more important things in this world that should have our attention.
