        A rather funny but interesting video, Youtube stars Ryan Higa (NigaHiga), Kevin Wu (Kevjumba), and Chester See (chestersee) collaborated together, making a music video about a so-called epidemic in the male community known as "nice guys finish last." In this short skit, Ryan and Kevin goes through a course teaching them how to pick up girls transitioning from a nice guy to a bad guy in which they learned the hard way through treating woman like trash and making it up. Here, they portrayed various characters/personalities through their apparels and bodily presentation.

        The term, nice guys finish last, usually refers to men who operate at a level where they do anything, if everything, to a woman with no complaints or objections as well as putting themselves second every time in a man-woman interaction. As to which pick-up artists, men who are skilled at interacting, attracting, and seducing women, would comment that in doing so, there is no competition, no attraction, a boring one-sided situation which pushes women away. Thus coined "nice guys finish last" for not getting any woman.

       In the skit, Ryan and Kevin did a fine job presenting a social construction of nice guys and bad boys through their facial expression and apparels. The dress-up of a highly buttoned flannels/dress shirt, a tie, comb-over hairdo, and a never ending smile can be easily portrayed of that as a nice guy. Then, there was D-trix (theDOMINICshow) who entered the scene at the end of the video with a dress shirt, a tie, glasses and talked at a high pitch voice showing his buck teeth signifying what is known as a nerd; he too would also be labeled as a nice guy. A relatively low or fully unbuttoned shirt, a 45 degree tilted cap, shades, a serious face, sharp body movements, and basically treating a woman like trash would then be read as a bad boy.

      To conclude, labeling people by their appearances is as easy is labeling an apple an apple and an orange an orange. A person with a mullet hair-do and wearing colorful clothing would be appointed as a hippie. A person in black clothing, baggy pants, dark make-up, and piercings would be perceived as a goth. A person's appearance can describe one's identity and so one should think about how he or she dress if they care about how they are being perceived.
